Anyone ever have a vbac before a planned cesarean birth?

Just curious to see if its even possible. Not pregnant just doing research! Thanks ladies!

A vbac requires that your OB babysit you during your entire active labor and you typically need to go to a hospital that does high risk births. If your vbac isn't approved ahead of time and you go to the hospital in labor, they'll do an emergency c section. So if you want a vbac, definitely discuss with your dr ahead of time.

I know someone this happened to. She had no intention of having a vbac. She went into labour before her scheduled c section and I think delivered within 2 hours of the onset of labour. It progressed so fast she had to call an ambulance to get to the hospital. My c section is scheduled quite late, 39+5, so if I go into labour before that I've been given the green light to try to vbac. This kid is being stubborn position wise so it might end up with a section either way.

I had a VBAC with my son, my doctor and I planned for a VBAC from the beginning so we never scheduled a c-section. Typically if you go into labor before your scheduled cs, they have you go to the hospital and do a c-section when you get there.

I'm not sure what you mean by "before a planned c section"....do you mean instead of a planned c section?  I was approved for a vbac, the risk of rupture is so low, I'd give it a try.
