Am I allergic to this?

This is actually so weird. Okay so when I was 12, I first got my period. And my cramps were BAD, so my mom bought me this period medication called Midol. When I took it at the time, I immediately felt 10x worse, I’m not even kidding. My cramps were excruciating and I started breaking out into a cold sweat, became really dizzy and nauseous, etc. So I NEVER touched that medication up until recently, probably like 2 months ago and I had the exact same  reaction to it. I took this medication 5 years apart (I’m 17) keep in mind. Could it have been a mild anaphylactic shock?

I wouldn’t say anaphylactic shock but you could have a mild allergy to it or it just doesn’t agree with your body.

Anaphylaxis is when your airway closes over and you stop breathing. There is nothing mild about it. If you're anaphylactic to midol you'd be dead without medical treatment. You could even allergic, but you're not anaphylactic to midol. Allergies do not always present as anaphylaxis. Also if you took midol on an empty stomach that could be why you felt so horrible- I have pretty much the same symptoms with any kind of pain killer if I don't take it with food. But, you could be allergic to the components though you usually get some signs of histamine reactions like hives or swollen glands (lymph nodes). Try using different pain killers.
