sudden gush of blood?

8 days pp - bleeding had tapered off over the last 24 hours with only very light pink stain on a pad.. But was just standing up and felt a sudden gush of fluid down there, went to check and have some darkish red blood on the pad (not soaked the pad or anything maybe 2 50p piece coins)... Anyone else had this??? Is it normal???

Yes its normal. I am 4 weeks PP and still bleeding off and on. As someone else commented its from not taking it easy (hard when you have a 2 year old at home lol). I bleed for 6 weeks off and on with my first as well. Just be sure you aren't passing large clots. Mention it to your dr at your next appointment. Most offices also have a nurse's station to field questions if you want to give them a call to ease your mind.

I am yet to have my baby but my friend went through this. Her doctor told her it was likely from not taking it easy enough and was normal. Obviously I can't say that's what is happening to you but I know it freaked my friend out but was fine.
