Hi I’m 38 weeks with my 2nd baby and do not want any assistance/intervention to bring on labour/birth. Consultant has said I can have a sweep at 39 weeks but I’m not going to have it. They’ve said I’ll be left until 12 days over and then offered induction but I’ve already said no induction and to just go straight to c section if I absolutely have to. The reason being, I had such a traumatic time of it with my 1st. Induced due to pre-eclampsia symptoms on my due date, development of pre-eclampsia in labour, full protocol of drugs, failed to progress past 6cm, needed an epidural for emergency c section but took 9 attempts by 3 different anaesthesiologists to get the epidural in and it hurt a lot. Really want a VBAC as I’m terrified of having an epidural again. Am I mad wanting to just go with the flow? Does anyone else feel like this?
