Happened to me last month. I had a corpus luteal cyst rupture, took a test when my period was late and it was a faint positive. Then I tested the next day and negative. When I went to the obgyn they said the cyst can cause a false positive. Hope this helps!

A cyst does not product HCG, more likely u had a fertilized egg that did not implant and u caught the tail end of the small amount of HCG leaving ur body (or chemical) my last chemical was a pos blood test on a Monday and a negative by Wednesday it can go fast! But no a corpus leutem cyst doesn’t produce HCG and cannot give u a false positive it can keep progesterone higher making your period delayed tho
