Ashley for a boy?

My partner's middle name is Ashley and he grew up as a massive Pokemon fan and obviously theres Ash Ketchum.. He really wants to be able to call our boy Ash. This is also my grandmothers favourite name and she means a lot to me and if our baby is a boy it would be nice to name him a name my grandmother likes.. if our  baby is a girl, she will have my grandmothers name anyway.

a man i knew (very, very good man) was named ashley. he sadly passed in february this year. it definitely took a toll on me & my family. 
i’ve been thinking about it a lot, & i want to name my first boy after him. i think ashley is a lovely name! i probably wouldn’t think that, had i not met him but i really do like it now :’)

I have a brother in-law name Ashley and he is 22 so it can work and I also have a brother in-law name Morgan so its unisex I know 2 other Ashley I herd off in the pass that a boy
