Absolutely heartbroken💔Anyone else?

Question

Today I got a call that I was not prepared for. My ultrasound and blood work showed high risk. I have to have the NIPT blood test done tomorrow and I see genetic counsellors on Monday. I’m a wreck right now. I’ve suffered through two missed miscarriages, and now this. Haven’t I been through enough?!😭😢

this happened to me with my youngest.  we had to get a special ultrasound where they measure things for down syndrome.  met with a genetic counselor and had the maternit21 blood test that seperates fetal DNA and tests it. 13 horrible emorional days from when i got the first call until i got the second call saying he was negative.  it was very hard for me.  this time,  we decided not to get genetic screening done since it wouldnt effect anything for us,  just cause stress.  did they give you odds? mine were 1 in 237 for down syndrome when,  for my age, i should have been 1 in 10,000.

Did they say what the baby is high risk for? Don’t be too afraid. I’m high risk and so far so good. 13 weeks about to be 14! We’ll make it thru to Dec and have healthy babies!!

I’m so sorry to hear this! However, those NT scans are notoriously inaccurate which is why NIPT is such an awesome advancement. Not sure what blood work you’ve already had done that wasn’t NIPT. I didn’t know there was anything else that would accurately tell you your risk level. I know your mama heart is hurting and that you can’t help but worry, but be kind to yourself and believe in the very real possibility that everything is perfectly okay.
