I worked on L&D; and postpartum for a number of years administratively in Canada. Both of the hospitals I worked at and had my babies at put hats on newborn babies immediately after birth to keep their heads warm, they order them in bulk. It just depends on the hospital whether they have the one type or the kind with the bow for girls. Here in Arizona (small town hospital) we had a group of retired women that would knit hats and blankets for all the newborn babies and they were so cute!! Anyway my guess would be it just depends on the hospital and where they order their supplies from 🤷

My doctor’s wife actually makes a hat for each of his patients so that’s where we got our newborn hat. With our first girl, we did not get a now hat. We had just a regular hat.

I'm  in CA and delivering at sutter memorial. I have seen all my friends daughters who delivered at same hospital get the bow hats. when i asked at hospital tour if all the girls get them the lady told me no they don't do those there 😒 i bought one online i don't want to bother them again with asking.
