Do you think using bovine* and porcine* pericardial patches is ethical?
Bovine- Cow
Porcine- Pig
So I was reading an article on the ethical issues of using animals for "spare parts", if you will, because my son is going in for heart surgery at the end of June. In this surgery they will patch the hole in his heart with a bovine pericardial patch since the hole is too big to suture. I thought I'd take the ethical argument to CC.

If you find it unethical, what other solutions do you have?
