Reason Clomid makes my cycle late?

Question

Aside from pregnancy? Confirmed ovulation last month with opk and period was three days late. Does this mean I ovulated later? If so why did I get positive opks on cd 17 and then by 18 negative? This process is really confusing me. Period was due today and nothing but I feel it coming.

what day do you ovulate without clomid? if clomid makes you ovulate later, your cycle will become longer. your follicular phase can vary in length for any number of reasons; but your luteal phase is pretty set barring any complications. 
ex: pre clomid I had 26 day cycles with ovulation on CD 12, with a 14 day luteal phase. while on Clomid, I have 28 day cycles because clomid delayed ovulation to CD 14 + my standard 14 day luteal phase. so my cycle is longer, but makes it seem like I'm late compared to my normal cycle because it's 2 days longer.

I definitely had the same question. I’m still in my first round so I am not sure how late i might be if I am but I was thinking the same. I know it says it can make you late but I questioned if that meant ovulation was happening later then the LH surge
