About acrylic and gel nails. How many of you used acrylic nails during pregnancy and baby was fine?

I’ve had some miscarriages and am now 38 and I’m concerned about my egg health. Most interested to see if people think acrylic or gel nails are bad enough that I need to stop in pre-conception.

I paint my own nails during pregnancy, but I wouldn’t go to a nail salon. I can barely walk past one at the moment, as the smell is awful. Before you’re pregnant though I think you can just keep doing what you’d normally do.

I work at a salon and I asked my boss how come she doesn’t do acrylic nails and only does gel nails. She told me her sister did nails and got sick from the acrylic and fumes and died at a really young age, in her late 20s. She also says your skin absorbs the chemical in the air from the acrylic nails. I would stay away. Better safe than sorry.
