Anyone have POSITIVE birth stories they like to share?

Question

I’m having my first baby in August and trying to retrain my mind to not associate birth with a negative mindset! 
Our culture in America and what we see on TV is always making labor seem like a horrible experience, and I get it, it’s no walk in the park but I’m trying to calm myself down about it because to be honest I’m very scared! 
So with that said, does anyone have positive birth stories they care to share? ☺️

mine was awesome. water broke in the middle of the night, contractions started gradually through the early morning. we had a nice sturdy breakfast and then I did some last minute expense report filing before we headed to the hospital. I was dilated to 4 and progressing nicely so they did a quick nst and asked if I wanted to have a water birth since they had space in the super nice birthing center. 
and two hours later, in a room streaming with springtime sunshine, my son was born. I don't remember it being painful really, just intense and all consuming. but my husband said I never seemed scared, I had great support and wonderful midwives so it all went like an absolute dream. 
and 15 months later, I'll be doing it again, hopefully in the same awesome birthing center.

I have voluntarily gone through two natural births! It was an amazing experience! It do hurt, although it is just for a little while and the payoff is forever! 
I did both in a hospital, as it is not allowed to do at home in Sweden, and because I did not use gas or anything else, I was completely alert straight after. The oxytocin makes the pain go away which is released. I was out from the hospital within an hour! 😂
If I had a third one, I would do it without any pain killers or gas again! 
Good luck! Don’t worry about anything, the child will come out sooner or later and you are going to beg the child to come out when there is so much pressure internally from the big belly! 😂

I don’t have a positive story because I’m due 7/31 with our first, but lemme tell ya - I am SO EXCITED to give birth. I’m not nervous, I expect it’ll be painful, but I feel prepared. My doc told me I had a really healthy outlook on the entire birth situation and confirmed that I don’t need a birthing class. Here’s where my head is:
- My SO and I made a baby. That’s pretty freakin cool. 
- I’m hopeful for a natural birth without drugs. I figure if I can watch a cat give birth to six babies, my body can handle one tiny human. (That being said, I’m not ruling out the juice if I decide I can’t bear the pain, and I’m going into it knowing I may have a C-section if needed. Shit happens.)
- Our baby is the prize at the end. She’s our princess trapped in the castle, and birth is Bowser. I can’t wait to conquer this and get to her. (video game reference, so I hope you like Super Mario.)
- My SO is so supportive of me, and he loves me and our baby so much already that I can’t imagine being even remotely worried about the birthing process. Any anxiety I might have had is swiftly and duly flicked away with his awesomeness. 
- People always exaggerate pain. I do have a high pain tolerance, but I remember when I went in to get my second (and largest) tattoo - a half-sleeve. I heard things like, “it’s so painful you’re probably going to cry.” And “don’t be embarrassed if you have to ask the artist to stop because it hurts too much.” So I get all jacked up, nervously sit in the chair, and the damn thing felt like an annoying bee that wouldn’t stop stinging me in a sunburnt area. It wasn’t a catastrophic level of pain, and there were no tears through any of the four sessions (tattoo artist spaced them out for healing and because his hands also get tired). I know tattoos and birth are not even close to the same thing, but I feel like if I prepare myself for the worst pain imaginable, it’ll end up being not so bad.

My labor and birth were super easy and quite amazing. I went into labor around 2pm and the contractions were just a little hard to breathe through but not quite excruciating. After two hours of laboring at home I called my mom since My husband was a t work and she drove me to the hospital. Was admitted around 4:30pm. I did have to labor without an epidural for about 10hrs but honestly with the support of my husband and family I was able to get through the contractions fairly well. After 10hrs I was induced with Pitocin and an hour later finally dilated enough for the epidural. An hour and a half later I was fully dilated and effaced and it took about 30-45 minuets after the nurse checked me that I gave maybe about 10 pushes, including the two “practice” pushes and baby was born. I did have an episiotomy but with the local anesthetic and the epidural I didn’t even know I had been cut until doctor told me she was stitching me up. My recovery has been super easy with minimal discomfort and little to no pain. Only thing that made my labor and delivery miserable was that my blood pressure kept spiking and dropping putting me at risk for seizures and I was put on a magnesium drip that makes you feel Laius to prevent seizures. Other than that it was a breeze and I had really no complaints and not a horror to share💙 8days postpartum and I feel amazing.

Mine was amazing!
I had period like cramps (contractions) in the afternoon that continued to get more painful and frequent throughout the day. I went for a nice long walk to help speed up my labor and stayed at home until the contractions were around 1 minute long, 3-5 minutes apart & I could no longer talk through them.
Went to the hospital (37 weeks pregnant) at 7pm.
7pm - nurses checked me, gave me fluids and monitored baby. I was 1cm and 80% effaced - what I was at my 36 week check
8pm - OB Dr admitted me at 3cm and 100% effaced
9pm - asked for epidural and was 4cm.
930- felt like I was going to poop on the floor. I had a new nurse who didn’t know what she was doing and didn’t realize I should’ve been checked to see if I was ready to push lol. My husband and I didn’t think of this LOL
940ish- epidural placed. Nurse decided to check me after placement and I was 10cm 🙈
I then no longer felt the urge to poo ..aka push haha.. after the epidural was placed. I went in thinking I wouldnt want one, but I LOVED it! I could still feel contractions, but they weren’t bad haha
1145- My OB came in and the room was set up for me to start pushing. 
Midnight- began pushing and our baby boy was born at 1215am!
Go in with a positive and open mindset! Your labor & delivery will be great. You’ll meet your baby and forget the pain immediately!

My experience was not nice but that was based on them not believing I was in labour. My birth it’s self was not anywhere near as bad as I had expected it to be. I had contracts mild from the morning of the 7th May when I woke up, they got stronger as the day went on. My waters broke at 8:45pm on 7th May I went to hospital they didn’t check how dilated I was just sent me home. I went back an hour later and I wasn’t screaming because I didn’t feel the pain that bad and they thought I was joking I was in labour but I went into a room to be checked and I was 6cm they couldn’t believe I was been so cool about it and I progressed fairly fast and by 1:30am I was ready to push with no pain relief. At 1:45am of the 8th May my baby was born I did have a 3rd degree tear but I healed fairly fast and quick and didn’t cause me many problems. If you think of the worse pain possible going into it, it won’t be as bad as you think this is what helped me I believe. Good luck!

Mine was good!! I was 41 weeks and doing everything to induce labor naturally. That morning we got up and walked 2.25 miles and then went home and ate and had sex (my midwife says that what gets you into it will get you out of it 😂). About 30 mins later I started having light contractions so I got in the tub. My husband was going to go work in the the garage and I was like you better wait a bit lol so after a little over an hour of contractions about 3 minutes apart we called the hospital and they were like " yeah you should probably come in" 😂 we had about a 30 minute drive to the hospital so we got there about 1:30, I was 5-6 centimeters dialated. The midwife came about 2 hours later and I was 8 centimeters. I continued to labor without any meds until I felt ready to push. I will say the contractions of course are painful but I just got through them and by the end I was falling asleep between contractions for seconds because I was so tired. I pushed for about 30 minutes or so and my baby was born at 5:15pm completely in the sack which was amazing. I did not tear at all and was able to shower that night and I was up cleaning up the room the next day 😂 my recovery was very easy and quick. She was born June 2016 so not recently but still a positive story!

I’ve had 2 positive births! 
1st- went in for a regular check up (by myself) at 38 weeks and my BP was super high. They put me in a recliner to relax and see if it would go down. The re checked it and told me to head upstairs bc it was baby day. I got induced (I think I was at 4cm before starting the induction), my epidural had no issues, and I delivered 4 hours later- I think I pushed twice. It was a really great experience. I got up and walked very shortly after and was able to nurse right away. 
With my second in was SURE she was going to come late: I worked that Friday and felt “funny” but not like I was in labor. Halfway through the work day I decided to go get checked, just to be sure. I got there and sure enough I was in labor (I think I was at 3cm at this time). I got admitted, got my epidural- I got a “hot spot” but it still hasn’t bad, and she was born I think 6 hours later. I pushed more with her, maybe 25 minutes. I will say with my first I told them I had to push- I could feel it, with my second they told me when to push- with this 3rd baby I’m waiting until I feel like I need to bc pushing is exhausting.

My son was born at 39 weeks and it was awesome!🎈🎊I had an unmedicated natural birth but with episiotomy. Contractions started early in the morning and they grew stronger but it wasn't bad at all👍I just had to use the toilet a lot (felt I needed to have a bowel movement every hour or so)🤣. I talked with my husband, ate, watched a movie, washed my hair and bounced on a birthing ball😁. Finally they were 5 minutes apart and we went to hospital at 10 pm. They checked on me and I was nearly fully dilated. Then they broke my amniotic sac and the contractions intensified😥 I talked with my husband and he took some photos. I felt great. Then I felt a strong urge to poop😂🤣And I said to my husband to call the midwife and take me to the toilet. She came and told me it was the baby coming. I pushed 4 times like she told me to and was given an episiotomy. My son was out in 12 am😍He was sooooo cute and cried the cutest little cry I ever heard. Then they brought him in a blanket for cuddles and photos. We were so happy😍I was stitched up and I started breastfeeding. And then my husband gave me some chocolate bars and I ate a ton and drank a lot of water as I was very thirsty. Then I watched my newborn sleeping😍The end🎉

I was induced and it was honestly an amazing experience. I went to the doctor may 1 and he said he could induce me because I was overdue, so I asked if I could get induced they day and he said I could. So we went home, I cleaned up a bit and got our bags and baby seat in the car. We went and had a light lunch, then went to the hospital. It was really a relaxed day. Some parts were uncomfortable, but other than that it was great! I labored for 36 hours. The epidural was amazing as well, I didn’t feel much. I have an amazing SO, David, and he was by my side the entire time. When I was pushing my stepmom and David held my hands and hyped me up! And I saw David literally jump for joy when he saw our son crowning. It was amazing. The hospital we went to was amazing. The nurses and doctors were amazing.
