Should a person with a dog be required to put up a ‘beware of dog’ sign?

Va

We have landscapers working on our yard and they start at a different time each morning. We told them they should ring the doorbell when they get to our house so we don’t let the dog out in the yard without realizing they are there (our side yard is not visible to our patio doors, so they could be there without us seeing them)... they forget every time to ring the doorbell and this morning our dog chased them out of the yard... he is well trained, but instinctively protective, so in our opinion he did his job. Nobody was hurt, his bark was entropy get them to the other side of the fence... One of the guys told us we should have a sign if we have a dog like this.., he wasn’t being rude, but seemed to imply having a sign was ‘the right thing to do’...

My husband and I don’t think we should have to warn people not to be on our private property with a sign.. and we have told this crew repeatedly to just ring the doorbell and we would know they were there. Just curious what CC thinks is ‘right’? 😊

Obviously feel free to disagree with me... that is what CC is about... but don’t insult my pup 😉 he is the best! 🐕😊
