When someone asks you if they look good in something and you feel that they don’t, do you:

Just asking because alot of people often tell me how blunt or “rude” I am when someone asks for my opinion on something pertaining to how they look, what they’re wearing, or something like “how does the food taste?” I consider myself to be really honest, if I don’t like the way something looks when they ask for MY opinion, I happily tell them I don’t like it.

It depends. If the person really loves the item and o don’t then I’ll tell them it suits them. However if I disagree and tell them I always try to help them find something that better fits their body and makes sure it’s something they’ll like/will actually wear. 
I wouldn’t make or suggest anyone get something they don’t like because I know they probably wouldn’t wear it so it would be a waste of money. I prefer the person who’s asking to feel comfortable and confident with their purchase

I'm honest, but also nice. Like if someone asks me if a shirt looks good on them I'd say something like "I'm not too fond if it, maybe try something else?"  instead of just saying "No, it's ugly".

I usually offer something else instead of hurting their feelings. If we are out shopping and my friend tries on a dress that I think is not flattering I’ll say: it’s nor too bad but try this one..

It depends who it is and also the way you say it. I’d never be like, “oh you look fat as hell in that.” But id just be like “eh, i don’t think it suits you maybe try this one instead.”

I wouldn’t comment on it on my own accord but if we’re close and they asked me then yes, I’d tell them. 
If we’re not that close, I’d probably lie. Its not my responsibility to tell them, that’s what their close friends are for and clearly if they’ve already purchased it or changed their hair colour or made the decision then they obviously like it, who am I to tell them otherwise.

I'm torn, my mom asks me all the time and I'm upfront with it. I'll tell her that it's ugly and she'll get in her feelings and go "well, I like it. You and me have different tastes"

so I really tend to lie or tell the truth depending on who it is. Why ask if you're not going to acknowledge what you don't want to hear?
