Do you tell people close to you that you’re tcc?

I feel like telling them will get them off your back of asking when are you going to start trying. The flip side is that they will start giving unsolicited advice when it takes months and months.

I have found that it’s easier to talk to someone who has also struggled with infertility. They understand the heartbreak that comes each month and how hopeful we all get.  I think it does help to talk to someone about it, but ya have to find the right person

Mom and MIL. It would be my first baby, and the first grand baby for both families. We are over 30 so they’ve been waiting a long time for a grand baby. I just hope we can conceive soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I told one friend that also struggled with fertility because she was open with me. It’s nice to have an empathetic ear and I’m so happy for her now that she’s pregnant.

I think talking about it helps me. Our family knows, my closest friends know, and even a few people at work that I’m close to. They all know how much I want to be a mom and sometimes the empathy helps. It’s harder for me not to talk about it because then I feel like I’m pretending it’s not there (even if that’s in my own head). Sometimes too, you find out other people are dealing with it and you can be each other’s sounding boards.

My closest friend(happens to be the office manager for my school), my sister, my department chair, and a fellow math teacher.
Not telling mom because I’m hoping it’ll be a surprise to help ease her mind off my sister and her little family having just moved halfway across the world for the next couple of years.
