smoking + pregnancy

Sophia

I'm on baby #2 and I have never smoked during my pregnancy but I was a regular smoker when I wasn't pregnant. I'm 30wks pregnant right now and I made it all this time without it but for some reason my anxiety has been through the roof. I also suffered from mild depressive episodes and I feel them creeping on once in a while. Would it be alright to just toke it to take the edge off? I'm just nervous because baby hasn't been exposed to it and I dont want to harm her since shes so close to being end of term. and also, I plan of Breastfeeding so would baby get THC from milk if I resume after she is born?

Smoking & pregnancy is so iffy.... my sister smoked throughout her entire pregnancies with both her kids & they are just as happy, healthy & smart as any other kids. 🤷🏽‍♀️ no complications , no worries .

From the research I’ve seen, and there isn’t too much, there’s no proof that it is harmful but if you test positive at birth for THC and the baby is underweight they can take your baby from you. It’s personally not something i would risk but i do understand the want to do it i smoked until i found out i was pregnant.

I smoked with my first & he’s 1000% healthy. I’m currently pregnant with my 2 and I’m still smoking although I’m smoking around 2 joints per day & it’s mainly to boost my appetite right now ,

I also have been breastfeeding my son for almost 18 months and I haven’t seen any indication that my son has received any THC from my milk

They say I found out I was pregnant I was high 😳😳. Throughout pregnancy I have sporadically eaten an edible here and there I've never smoked. All my doctor visits have been perfect, baby is developing perfectly etc. I'm 30 weeks now though, and decided for the rest of my pregnancy to not partake. No matter how bad my anxiety, nausea, and pain get. You can do it, you re so close to the finish. However, if it's that bad try and edible over smoking if you can.Good luck mommas.

You made it this far without smoking! If I was you I wouldn't & yes the thc will be passed in your milk to your baby!

All I have to say is be careful they can test the baby all the way back to 6 weeks I don’t know what state your in so I don’t really know the laws but coming from someone in a state that is not tolerant to weed I wouldnt

I was an advocate smoker before getting pregnant and in the beginning of my pregnancy I took a couple of hits here and there to calm down my morning sickness and nausea and honestly it just made things SO much worse and made me more paranoid which I had never been before, because you're pregnant the THC definitely has a different effect on your body..at least for me it has, but I would say it's worth a shot. Weed is a whole different story than tobacco!

I'm the same. I'll have one hit occasionally still to calm down but it does the total opposite, anxiety, anxiety, anxiety!!!

I'm definitely not denying that it didn't make me feel any better I think just me being a first-time Mom I'm paranoid as it is about everything LOL

I smoked regularly before I became pregnant. The key is to not think about it. Soon as I found out I quit, I did it once or twice in the beginning because of cramps when in all actuality the baby was growing lol, then I stopped completely at about 7 weeks. I had my daughter April 26th, I had urges to smoke after but I also wanted to breastfeed, I started back once she was 3 or 4 weeks. I regretted it because now that she’s a month I see it’s easier to breastfeed, I should’ve waited.

No! Go out for a walk on the earth. And feel the wind.

I wouldn’t risk it. There are so many ways to relieve depression and anxiety. Try to find other natural remedies for anxiety that are safe for you to take. When I suffered from both those things in the past, I found that going on hikes and walks around nature helped tremendously.
