Anyone having trouble keeping baby on their back?

We’re trying so hard to follow the safe sleep guidelines but our little guy refuses to stay on his back. He is definitely a side sleeper and has already rolled from one side to back to the other side at 4 days old!!
Anyone else having this problem? Is there anything I can do to keep him on his back or should I not worry too much?

My first was a back and side sleeper. My second and third are both belly sleepers. I understand and support the back is best campaign. However if babies won’t sleep that way (it will choke on vomit like my second did on her back) then I’m for them sleeping however is best for them.

I wouldn't worry. Especially if Baby is in your room with you, that way you are in tune with Baby's needs.

If baby can roll side to back to side by themselves its perfectly safe for them to sleep on their side. I was worried about it and asked my midwife about it at my sons 5 day check and she just made sure he could roll himself and said it makes no difference if he's the one putting himself on his side. He refuses to sleep on his back at all, won't go in moses basket because when it rocks he gets forced onto his back.

It’s not an issue.
Babies will often roll to their sides at this age, as long as you lay baby down on his/her back at first you’re good.

My daughter (1 month tomorrow) will only sleep on my chest, on her stomach, or on her side next to me. She will wake up any other way 😩.

My daughter will only sleep on my chest or on her side next to me. If I lay her on her back she flips to her side almost immediately! I just watch her and at night I hold her on my chest so I can feel her breathing

My kids have all preferred to sleep on their tummies.  No matter how much I tried to get them to sleep on their back they would fuss until turned over.

My son loves to sleep on his side. He’ll roll to one side in his sleep, no matter how many times you turn him. I honestly just let him sleep however he’s comfortable now because mom dad and baby all need sleep.
