May sound like a stupid question but are you more likely to get pregnant if you’re ovulating even if you’re on the pill?

If ur taking the pills properly/consistently, then u don’t ovulate. That’s the main way it works to prevent pregnancy.

SOME do. If you’re on a progestin only pill then it doesn’t always prevent ovulation, but it is a side effect. It’s similar on the implant, IUD, and other LARCs. NOT ALL pills prevent ovulation if they’re progestin only methods

Perhaps. It depends on what TYPE of birth control pill you’re on. Some pills work by preventing ovulation and so if you take it right then you should not ovulate and be ok. There are other pills that work by thinning the lining of your uterus which in turn prevents successful implantation of the egg. The later type will not affect ovulation because it works to prevent pregnancy after this step in your monthly cycle. 
They both SHOULD work if taken correctly but the latter type will make it the less efficient of the two; I do not know 100% if this is accurate but it is what I have been told repeatedly by several gyns.

The pill prevents ovulation, and thickens cervical fluid to help stop sperm from getting to an egg just in case. however, in theory, if you were to ovulate anyway, yes you would be more likely to get pregnant.
