What do you think of the spelling Charlette?

I love the name Charlie and my husband likes Charlotte but I never liked the traditional spelling. I love names with -ette at the end and thought this would be a good alternative! But I would like to know other people’s thoughts on it first!

Well that depends on what you're going for... Charlette is a different name than Charlotte. You cannot simply change a spelling and expect the pronounciation to stay intact, so it's better to focus on what you want the name to sound like. Otherwise your child will be correcting people her entire life.

take it from someone who's not only stuck with "Harmoni" as a name...thanks mom.. but with an i on top of it all. Just don't :) you wouldn't believe the butcherings. I get called Hermione, harMONi like Armani with an h. har-MOW-ni... personally I don't think my names THAT hard lmao.

I have a normal name spelled different and I've hated it my entire life cuz I have to spell it to everyone. I wish my mom would have just spelled it a normal way

Do you have a different spelling name? Different name? Hard to pronounce or spell? If not, I can see why you would like to change something that seems “basic”, but honestly, don’t. Your child might hate their name or be upset because you couldn’t spell it correctly.
Just imagine, every time she goes to Starbucks, she’s gonna be upset they spelled her name “Charlotte” smh. (Sarcasm, btw)

Although it's not common,  you're probably not the only one with that spelling.  My name is the "original/ traditional " way to spell Katie,  but I get asked constantly how to spell it. I've seen Katy, Cadie, Katti, Kati and probably several more.  So if anything it may be a nuisance to you and her when filling out paperwork and things like that
