I just had this same freak out a couple days ago. You are totally just stressed out because by now, you’d probably be experiencing actual pregnancy symptoms (I’ve done a crap load of research that I’ve taught myself more than my schooling ever has). So here is some advice from me!

As long as you had protected sex (condoms or birth control or both) and everything was used correctly, you’re totally fine.

If you didn’t, then you may want to try doing a pregnancy test at home.

It can be totally scary, I know—I was super stressed the last two-ish weeks of college before coming home; and had a lot of protected sex with my boyfriend too. I also got really sick. My body was under crazy amounts of stress, even if I emotionally or mentally didn’t feel like I was.

All of that set my period back by a week and I ended up freaking out over nothing.

So first off, check how long your cycles usually are. I thought I was on average 28-30 days, but what happened more often for me was like 31-33 days! So, I started looking at my cycle length not on the averages, but in the modes (#mathterms).

That helped to calm me down and made me less late.

Also, do some good research on tracking cervical mucus! That can help you know if you are in you ovulation period or in between! But do very thoughtful research—don’t fool yourself!

Lastly, figure out if after your last period you experienced anything strenuous—physically, mentally, emotionally, just anything. When your body feels stressed, it goes into a mode of “hey; I’m stressed out right now, which means I can’t handle making a baby right now,” meaning your period can be hella delayed or skipped entirely! Excessive exercising or weight change can cause this too!

So in the end, take a pregnancy test now and again a week later if your period still doesn’t show up. If they’re both negative, try to de-stress and it’ll come. If it doesn’t come for three months (including now) totally go see a doctor.
