VBAC vs C section

Tara

Hello ladies,

I am in a bit of a predicament & am at a war with myself over whether or not I should schedule a c section or give VBAC a try. Reading online articles isn’t particularly helping this decision either as they’re both pretty 50/50 with whether or not a c section or VBAC is better. Here’s a little background story on my first c section. I was induced with my daughter for being overdue, I had an epidural at 7 cms, which I felt was way to late for them to administer it but they did so anyways. This led me to not be able to feel ANYTHING when it came time to push so it was very hard for me to differentiate if I was contracting or not. I pushed for 4 hours to get my daughter down into the position they wanted, still unsure why they rushed me into pushing when i had only been in labor for about 8 hours at this point, and when it came down to actually pushing I was EXHAUSTED. So the dr offered forceps. I was VERY young at the time, only 17, so I was unaware of the risks that came with them. So I agreed, the dr was pulling on my daughters head with the forceps so hard she was pulling me off the bed. She then lost grip of the forceps and after that my daughters heart rate dropped, therefore leading to the emergency c section. I was also completely knocked out for my c section as well. I am very nervous about making this decision. I would love to have a birth vaginally as I feel cheated from my first delivery cause the incompetence of the dr and the hospital. But I want what’s best for the baby as well. Anyone have any advice?
