Ovulating after two weeks without birth control?

Please help! I switched my birth control this month because I was having health problems with my previous pill. Because of this, I didn't take anything for my period week and for about a week after my period ended while I was waiting for my new prescription. About halfway through the second week without birth control, I had a TON of discharge, slight cramps, and was super horny. Could this have been my body telling me an egg was released? I'm worried because my bf came in me during my period, but what are the odds of ovulating only a few days after my period (especially after having been on BC for years)
