2 door car w a car seat?

Question

Currently I have a 2 door Honda Civic and I love it, its a good car, but is it going to be okay with a car seat and a child? I’ve had my niece and nephew both in the back before and it was kind of a hassle getting them in and out but that was because i had to go to both sides and it took a while. Do any of you ladies have a 2 door car with an infant? Would a 4 door car or cross over be better? What’s your favorite kind of car with an infant?

honestly it's going to be a pain in the ass lol. Especially as they get bigger. My mil drives a two door and getting my son into his seat is a work out every time

My hubby owns a 2 door Civic too. Just looking at the size of our infant seat compared to the size of the car worries me. I’m trying to get him to agree to getting a used 4 door instead. It’s going to be a hassle to get the baby in and out.

I had a two door Mitsubishi eclipse and after having to go through the trunk to put a friend's car seat in one time, I said nope and sold it (was about to start TTC at the time and broke my heart I had bought her new from the dealership years ago). So I bought a 4 door Honda civic to make life easier for when she gets here in a few weeks.

I find it hard enough to get my crying and flailing son into his seat in a 4 door, I can’t imagine a 2 door. Maybe see if a baby store near you will let you put a seat in so you can see what it might be like?

I would get a cross over. When I got pregnant with my 1st I had a Honda Fit. Its a 4 door but its small so I bought a Subaru Forester and I’m so glad I did. My husband kept the Fit but now with 2 babies we’re getting him a Subaru Outback. They are much safer in an accident as well, we found out the hard way😪

I would just be concerned that if you were in an accident it might be harder to get the baby out of the backseat in a two door rather than a four door.

A 4 door will obviously be a lot easier. But you might be able to get away with a 2 door for the first year when baby is in an infant bucket seat since you get them all strapped in their car seat outside of the car and then just click into in the base in the backseat. If the front seat moves up enough to allow you space to fit the infant bucket seat through it shouldn’t be too bad. 
However once they are in a rear facing convertible seat that will be a huge hassle. You will have to climb into the back seat with baby to be able to strap them in. Personally I find it hard enough to get in the back of a 2 door car empty handed, I wouldn’t want to do it holding a 1 year old.
