are massages ok in 1st trimester?

is it ok to lay on belly for a massage?  I'm 9 wks.

I’m a therapist myself & it’s completely more than ok to get massages during ANY time of your pregnancy (: Got them all throughout my 1st and plan to do the same with my #2! You can lay on your stomach until you start getting a bump (not bloat lol an actual bump) far from harmful. Everything will be just fine (:

The main reason some places won’t in first trimester is because they don’t want to be blamed if a miscarriage occurs. 
I had one at four weeks and signed release forms that stated I don’t hold them responsible. 
The place I went to made sure to only use certain aromas for aromatherapy as some can cause contractions/ miscarriages and was trained in prenatal massage techniques.

I went to a spa recently and had booked a massage before I knew I was pregnant.  When I got there they said they can’t do a massage during the first twelve weeks (they gave a full explanation why but I can’t remember exactly what they said but it was something about stimulation and the left side of the body, sorry😅) 
I ended up just having a facial.  If you are going to a professional make them aware you’re pregnant and how far along and they will advise you whether it is safe or not, but from my own experience I’ve been told by professionals that it’s a risk.

I may be wrong but places here in NC won’t do a massage until after 12 weeks. Not sure why but I know Massage Envy and other places ask and will deny you until that 12 weeks mark!

I sleep on my stomach and eberytuing ive researched says as long as your comfortable its fine. You should probably mention to them that you are pregnant though

I had a terrible headache and I decided that getting massage is still less harmful than taking a painkiller. So I did it last week at 7w3d. I told the therapist I was pregnant. It helped a lot with my headache, but I still freaked out afterwards if I should have done it. If not for the headache I wouldn’t take the risk.

I was advised to wait till second trimester.... sadly I cancelled my appt :( over stimulation... I was also advised when I do reschedule to make sure they are trained in prenatal massages...
