Hiring an assistant

Ny`Shalah

Hey ladies. I am WAHM and I am still trying to fully balance being a mom, wife, and entrepreneur. I was a second grade teacher before I decided to resign and stay home so that my husband and I would not have to hire a nanny. The thought of a stranger caring for her is terrifying as a FTM. I now have an Education Consulting business and it is going very well. However, I'm having trouble getting work done. Honestly I do not get any work done until my husband gets home from work, which varies since he is a football coach at a college 50 minutes away from our home. Our daughter is seven months so she still requires a lot of my time. I refuse to neglect her needs just to get work done so I am thinking of hiring an assistant. By hiring an assistant, the little tasks such as scheduling and other minor things will be taken care of, which will give me more time to focus on the bigger tasks. Any WAHM had to do this? Also, what would be a good salary for an assistant? I'm thinking $15 per hour, I'm willing to pay up to $25/hour. I suppose I'd only need them on a part-time basis. I'd prefer someone who is retired and is looking for part-time work. I also prefer someone someone with secretarial and clerical experience.
