Masturbation vs religion

So I'm Mormon and we have really strict sex rules. No sex before marriage and no sexual acts with anyone you aren't married to, which i see as reasonable (i don't experience sexual attraction so maybe it's different for others) but we even have it in writing that you can't even masturbate??? Like how do they expect teenagers to stay "sexually pure" if there's no outlet??? Anyway my question is, does anyone religious think there's anything wrong with masturbation? I'm a bit conflicted
