Seriously? Cervix check

I tried checking my cervix the other day and did everything google said and I figured oh I’m 2 cm. Well, I was not dilated at all at my doctor appt. Has it ever been successful for you?! Lol.  I just don’t get it.

I wouldn't check my own. Not only can it cause anxiety because you really don't know what you're doing and may be misdiagnosing yourself, but there's always a chance (although slim) of rupturing a membrane or causing an infection.  If you're worried, then call your doctor and they'll have you come in to check.

i do it
 5th baby. i can tell my dilation and effacement and feel babys head through bag of waters
 i use sterile gloves and water based lubricants though

I tried multiple times with different pregnancies and I can’t do it! I dont know if it’s that I can’t reach it or simply don’t know what I’m feeling. I’ve decided I won’t try checking this pregnancy because I just get annoyed and frustrated when I can’t figure it out
