Big baby?

Everytime i get a scan the baby is always measuring 2-3 days ahead and i move up the days on my app so its accurate and still 3days ahead at my last scan. Does this mean im going to have a big baby (all my MIL kids were 10lbs)

Unless doc is moving your date also there’s no reason to keep changing the date. Ultrasound measurements can be inaccurate by pounds.

Babies develop at different speeds. When the doctor is measuring your baby, they are just saying “On average, babies are this size at X days into pregnancy.” If your baby is a few days ahead, it doesn’t mean they are big, it means they are a little further developed than the average. Importantly, scans are commonly up to a week off - the doctor is measuring something very very tiny, so even the smallest amount of mis-measurement can cause the gestational age to be off by a few days. You should not change your due date unless your doctor tells you, and usually this is only if the scan is over a week behind or ahead. If you change it to be a few days ahead, you could go into another scan and see the baby is a few days behind - or even a few days behind your original date - which could cause you a lot of unneeded stress. Just expect that scans are approximate (up to a week plus or minus) , and follow the date your doctor is using.

They kept thinking my son would be big and I was scared because my brothers were both around 10lbs. But he only ended up being 7lbs 5 oz 🤷🏼‍♀️
