Does anyone use international plans?

My boyfriend and I are making plans for his deployment this fall and are looking into phones plans that will allow us to call each other. What plans do y'all use? Any advice on what to look for?

When my husband was in Spain. We temporary cut off his phone service. U have to call ur provider. And we have iPhones so as long as he was in his room and using WiFi. He was able to FaceTime call (audio or video) and he can iMessage. We didn’t have to get an international plan. And saved 6 months off of his cellphone bill

whatsapp is a good app thats uses internet for texting. dont spend money on a phone. what until he gets there a lot of places have free phones to use. i was deployed and never bought a phone or minutes. i just used the free phone.

Will he have WiFi where he’s deployed? Where my husband is deployed he does so we can FaceTime/ message. He cuts his phone off while he’s gone, paying international is way too expensive lol usually you can find ways around it.

my husband switched to international plan it was like 5 dollar difference in our phone bill but we talked through Facebook about 95 % of the timeb

My husband did an international plan and I do not recommend. We were laying around $500 for our phone bill 😅

Nooooo 🙅🏼‍♀️ way to expensive. Tell him to get a puck after he gets there and just pay for the data every month for it. It’s much cheaper to do it that way and he can sell the puck to someone coming in as he leaves to come back home. There are so many apps that allow calls and texts now that data is all you need
