we want to name our daughter samantha but aren’t sure which one of our last names to give her. what sounds better?

Samantha Lawrence - Brown doesn’t sound terrible together. I’ll be using fathers name for mine 👍🏻

the father's last name! I couldn't stand that my step daughter had her mother's maiden name. she refused to give her my husband's last name when they were together but she's been married 7 times and gets name changes all the time so that left my step daughter not having the last name of either of her parents. now she's 9 and her mother finally allowed her to change her last name but only agreed to a  hyphenated last name with her maiden and ours after. she currently has a different last name again. I hate the hyphenated. it's stupid for a kid but it's better to have ours in there somewhere and for her to feel like she's part of a family at least at one house.
so my point is, if you use your last name then get married and take his then she'll be different from both of you.
with naming a child you must think about the far future. I wish more people did. we also do Foster care and you wouldn't believe some of the names kids have that come into care. although I've seen some bad ones on here.
