Daycare bottles

Megan

The lady I drop my daughter off with has been suggesting that I start to feed my daughter cereals and add more to her bottle because she cries right when the bottle is empty, but all of my research has told me differently. In my experience a quick burp and cuddle and she stops crying.

My daughter is 5.5 months old and started daycare at 3 months. I give her 4 4 ounce bottles at daycare and feed on demand the rest of the time. I drop her off at 7 AM and pick her up at 4:30 PM. She gets a bottle every 2.5 hours, so just over 1.5 ounces an hour. When at home she usually asks for the breast every 2 hours, she goes longer in the mornings on the weekend. If I give her a bottle she usually goes 2.5-3 hours before she asks again, and sometimes I can’t get her to finish the bottle.

I have given her main teacher permission to feed her more often since she has been asking for food more often at home, but don’t really trust everyone to be able to make that decision. Since I told the teacher that she has only gotten her spare bottle once.

I’m not under feeding my child, right?
