How do I talk to my mom about birth control?

I’m 16 but I’ve been having sex with my boyfriend for a couple months and I really want an IUD or implant but I have no idea how to approach the conversation with my mom... any suggestions?

If you don’t want to tell her or don’t feel comfortable telling her exactly what you want it for then tell her it’s because you want it to help regulate your period, however she will probably have an idea of why you truly want it when you ask her that. Even if she doesn’t approve necessarily I can guarantee you that she would rather you ask her to be put on birth control than coming to her telling her you’re pregnant.
