Rug burn on baby’s nose fell out of crib

So last night my 20 month old climbed out of his crib and fell face first onto the floor, which thankfully was carpet and broke his fall a little. Unfortunately he has bad rug burn on his nose. I called the on call dr last night and he said as long as he is happy and not acting out of the ordinary that he is okay and to just keep it clean and put neosporin on it. Wondering if this has ever happened to anyone? How long did it take to heal if so? And yes we did lower his mattress after the fall (thought we had t on the lowest setting but apparently it had one more notch to be moved down).
