ovary pain

so when I ovulate I get a sharp pain in my ovary... not often, just on occasion. but this cycle, I also got it a few days before I'm supposed to start my next period. I have dull cramps too but I haven't had this pain when I'm about to start before. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
