Chronic Illness and pregnancy
I am 24 weeks and my pain management PA cut my meds down pretty significantly a couple of months ago. I am trying my best to tough it out for the sake of my baby but it's been awful. I am in so much pain at night and in the mornings. I have fibromyalgia, polyarthritis and hidradenitis (which surprisingly and thankfully is mostly dormant because of my pregnancy). I feel like I'd rather cut my arms and legs off than to feel this amount of pain for another second. I have an appointment with the actual pain management Dr (not his PA) on Monday so hopefully he can make a few adjustments. My neonatologist assessed me and the baby early in my pregnancy and said there is no indication or studies that the medicine I take negatively affects the baby in utero and advised I stay on my current doses due to the severity of my diagnosis. My high risk OB agreed as well but the only pain management office in town that will touch pregnant women with a ten-foot pole, disagrees. I have tried everything natural and holistic that is allowed during pregnancy to no avail. Anyone else in a similar situation? It's going to be a very long and excruciating last half of this pregnancy if I can't find some sort of relief! In all of this, the saving grace is that my little boy is growing, healthy and doing well❤️
