Finally here
Finally my sweet little baby is here. I was due 6/10/18. We had a planned induction set for 6/11/18 in case he decided to not come on time. Well the little bugger didn't want to come on his own until prodded. I wasn't dilated at all so my OB decided that we would do an induction over night with just a medication that ripens your cervix. It can start labor on its own, but usually still requires pitocin in the morning.
Well let me tell you, that was all the prodding my little guy needed.
I got two doses of that pill (you get it placed next to your cervix every 3 hours) at 8pm and 11pm.
12:20am and my water had broken, I was dilated to 2cm. I started to get contractions that were getting a little more painful. I wanted to do this as naturally as possible. So I got up, walked around. My hubby rubbed my back for me. My contractions were really getting painful in my back and butt.
I don't remember what time it was, but at some point I was checked again and I was 6cm. The details blur together a little bit. I decided at this point I wanted to get in the whirlpool. So I did. All of a sudden my contractions were INTENSE and one right on top of the other with no breaks in between. At this point I broke down and asked for IV pain meds. I got out of the tub, they got my IV in and OMG I needed to push.
Ryland James was born at 3:54am on 6/12/18 after only a few hours of active labor. 7lbs 2oz, 21 1/4 inches long. He is my first ever. So glad I actually didn't go to any birthing classes, no one could have prepared me for that.
