birth control..?

i don’t wanna sound dumb, but when it comes to birth control, is it better to take the pill or get the shot? and does birth control make you gain weight?

you honestly may need to try different ones to see which one works best for you, and I do know people that gain weight from certain methods, yes.

There's a lot of methods out there not just the pill and the shot. Everyone also reacts differently so some women gain weight on methods that others do not. As for the two methods you're interested in... the safer choice is the pill. You'll have to remember to take it correctly. The shot is more long term and easier to maintain however it's connected to other health issues like bone density loss that can worsen with use and may not be reversible even after stopping the shot. The shot also has two main side effects being irregular bleeding and weight gain. Bring up these methods to your doctor so you two can discuss which is right for you. But personally I would recommend the pill over the shot, I would recommend anything over the shot lol.

Pill or implant. Don’t consider anything else, especially not the shot. That shot is a horror story. 
Pill, IUD, or Nexplanon. Nothing else in my opinion.
