Is a C Section safer?

I’m almost 35 weeks with boy/girl twins. Baby A is head down and measuring about a pound bigger than Baby B. Baby B is breech. My doctor has been telling me I can attempt a vaginal birth since the first baby is bigger and I’ve already had a previous vaginal birth of an 8 lb baby and that baby B may turn after A is delivered or we can try a breech extraction.

Well, my dad just gave me a huge lecture after talking to my step brothers wife who is an anesthesiologist. I guess she gave him all these horror stories about emergency c sections for a breech twin. So he thinks I should just do an elective c section and was being really stern about it. Idk what to do or what is safer. My doctor is confident with trying vaginal but won’t necessarily be the one on call when I deliver.. any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
