Car seat position?

Installing our car seat base and not sure what's the safest position for baby? I know rear facing is #1 but which location is safest for baby?!?

The safest place is where you get the best install! Read your car manual because not all vehicles allow for a center seat install. Even if it does it may not fit well there. The most important thing is a proper install and strapping the baby in properly. The seat will function as intended.

I had mine installed at the hospital Saturday.  the educators said the center is safest.  even though I can use the latch system on either side,  they prefer the belt in the middle.

Does your car seat anchor into your seats? If so, you would have to check if the middle seat has anchor points. If so, then baby can go there so long as there is not a fold-down cup holder. Regardless of anchors or not, if your middle seat has a fold-down cup holder, baby should not be in the middle. I put the car seat on the passenger side because your nor passenger seat can not touch the car seat. Check with your local Police or Fire Department for a car seat inspector. I work at my Fire Department and has my inspector install my car seat and he relayed all of this information to me!☺️

Statistically the center of your back seat is the safest; however you want to place the seat where ever you are going to get the most snug and safe fit for the base.

Wherever you get the best install is safest. Most cars don’t allow lower anchor borrowing, so if you do install in the middle you may have to use the seatbelt.

I don’t think the seat matters, as long as it’s the back seat. I would recommend behind the passenger seat because some car seats are bulky and you don’t want to interfere with your driving space

Back centre is safest way to protect from side impact if youbsee in an accident. Second safest in UK would be behind passenger as this is the pavement side when parallel parking.

Middle is safest because if you are hit from the side the baby is less likely to get hit, but some cars don't have the latches in the middle seat, or there is a hump in the middle so the carseat can't lay flat. Also, the middle seat is trickier to get the baby in and out of, especially right after giving birth. We had a police officer who is trained to install car seats put ours in and he said the passenger side is second best because if you have to pull over to help baby, you are not standing in traffic. Also, when driving there is no traffic on that side of the car, unless you're on the highway in a passing lane. :-)
We just moved our toddler's seat to behind the driver and will put the baby's seat behind the passenger.

I’ve been told center because if you get in an accident and a back door is hit then you don’t have to worry about baby getting hit and if you put them on the drivers side then you will be taking them in and out on the traffic side since on streets the driver side is towards the traffic
