How long do I wait to check up on him? Or do I not?

He was acting weird with me, distant, different, he was giving me excuses all the time, but not once reassured me, I got tired of waiting around for him so I said “I understand you’re going through a hard time, I’ll give you space if that’s what you need” and he said “thanks for understanding”. How long should I wait before checking up on him? Or should I at all

Two weeks and then check up on him. But if he needs any more space after that then I think it’ll be time to let go.

Actually went through the same thing recently. I kinda gave up on him . But you do what you feel like you should do. Follow your heart but listen to your brain too.

I gave up on a guy like that. 
It was making me miserable worrying about him all the time, not that he cared since then after a couple of months of hearing nothing a friend came across his new FB profile on “people you may know” and he was living in the next town in a relationship with another girl.

I went through this with my ex. He was 27 and I was 20. He would just randomly get in a mood act super distant and then say he needed time alone to think was usually the excuse. It was usually just a night to two days. But he asked for the whole weekend starting on Wednesday night and I ended it as soon as his weekend of alone time was up. And he had apparently realized I was his soulmate during his weekend alone. There was a lot of problems in our relationship both ways. I was a mess mentally and he was too immature and had no goals in life.

How long do I wait to check up on him? Or do I not?
