Mixed signals/ confusing

Sooo ladies have you ever met a guy that you like and you’re not sure wether he likes you or is interested in you because he gives mixed signals. Well let me tell you something that happened recently . My friend has been talking about her co workers it’s like I knew all of them but I never had a face for each person she was talking about. When I went to sleepover at her house she decided it was a good day to put names to faces. I went to her work only to see a guy that she has been talking a lot about . But not for her , for me . She always told me that she thinks we would like each other if we ever met. Which sort of did happen. Her other coworker Stephen went on his 10 minute break and cane over to talk to us. He told my friend that his friend ( coworker) Daniel thought I was hot. Which was the guy that my friend has been talking about. So she goes up to Daniel for a sec and tells him to hang w us on his 10 because I thought he was hot too. So that happened and we talked on his break he is such a sweet charming guy. We hung out after he got off to go eat good with my friend and I felt tension it was a bit awkward because I hardly talk to guys but my friend made it comfortable to talk to him and we had a good convo going. He then texts me everyday, which is good. My brother always tells me that a guy is interested if he texts you first and that if he likes you he will chase after you. Here’s where my problem is , he texts me but he takes forever to reply . The sweet thing about it is that every time he knows he takes long , he apologizes for it every time . I told him I’m planning to stay a virgin til marriage because he asked me if I was and I told him . I thought after that he wouldn’t text me at all but he told me that he dates people because he likes them and he wants them to be apart of his life , to be his girlfriend. So I thought that was sweet. My friend who works with him( same girl I mentioned previously) said that he got out of a relationship in which he is scared to fall in love again. When he asked me about my ex boyfriends I was open about it. I asked him about his ex’s but he kind of dodged the question. I’m not sure what to do or think. He has not even asked me to hang out yet and we sorta hung out that one time after work that was it . He talks to me everyday but idk I want to get to know him better . Our convos are not really deep or about anything important it’s more of a casual conversation . I can’t even tell if he likes me or what the hell us going on.
