I really need some advice
So I have posted this topic but have not gotten any responses from other groups.
Me and my husband got a puppy together on the 9th of this month. He was all excited because this is his first dog. Come to find out, the Korean asshole that sold the pup to us knew his dogs were sick and still sold them. His half English speaking son admitted at least half his pets that are sold wind up sick with SOMETHING. However, this dudes contract is not even within Korean law for pet shops or whatever, as we found out from legal. The assumption is that he gets his breeds from puppy mills where they mass produce and all sorts of viruses and diseases are spread. The shop we got him from was clean and all the dogs SEEMED healthy. Not even 4 days after we got our pup he started having symptoms of distemper. For anyone who doesn't know it is, to put into perspective, it's similar to aids. No cure and slowly eats away at your body. Apparently the shop you buy the dog from is required to pay for all medical expenses, as the vet we brought him to explained. We left him there for a day and all the guy was giving him was a damn antibiotic. No iv or anything to hydrate the poor feller. We took matters into our own hands and his is at a hospital right now and has been for the past week. We are currently in the process of having the owner shut down and blacklisted for all military. (For any military members, we got him really close to camp humphreys walk in gate). I am torn what to do in this situation. My husband doesn't want to stop the treatments but the doctor explained that he would have a poor quality of life and would have scarred lungs and trouble breathing. I guess there is something in his body that is absorbing the plasma he is being given and she said he would need to have blood transfusions in the future. His white blood cell count is getting lower and he has severe pneumonia and anemia. The lab test results came in this past Monday and showed that he also has parvo. (I guess the stick tests detected distemper and Corona virus but they needed a blood test to detect parvo.) we thought he was getting better but things are just rolling downhill. This entire situation is messing up my relationship with my husband and is making us argue like crazy. I am behind on my schoolwork and our apartment is a train wreck. Any advice or experiences on these viruses? Miracle stories? This is a couple recent pictures of our sweet little Alphonse. (yes the name is from FMA brotherhood, my husband is a nerd) ***Alphonse is approx. 10 weeks this week***
This is the most recent pic the vet sent us today.
This pic was the day prior.
