snipped... condoms?

I'm 3 weeks post partum and I had a c section during the the c section the doctor asked if I wanted to get my tubes tied and I told him no cause my husband agreed to get snipped now question I was unaware that he had to follow up 3 months after getting snipped to make sure that there is no more live sperm so with that being said are there any good recommendations for birth control we don't really do the whole condom thing yet we don't wanna get pregnant again ... so are condoms the way to go for now? any other mommies have there husband get snipped any stories?
