tattoo over scars

has anyone tattooed over a recently new scar? and has anyone tattooed over an old raised scar? what are your experience with both situations?

I have scars that are about a month old still reddish pink still raised. I know I should wait but I can't bare to see them let alone have anyone else see them it's in a pretty hard to hide spot and I just want them covered asap, I get so many looks from people especially when they see me with my kids. I'm currently getting help and treatment but I don't want my kid to have to be excluded from playing with other kids just because the moms think poorly of me (it's happened a bunch of times already). and I also have a very old scar from 5 years ago it's healed and skin colord but it's a raised scar.
