Infant car seat right away. I like the idea of just being able to remove it from the base without waking a sleeping baby.

We bought one of each. A very inexpensive infant and Then a more expensive 1-4 convertible.

I have a travel system that has the infant car seat but I added the convertible to my registry. My travel system that has a stroller that goes up to toddler age so I figured I was getting something else that’s convertible already

With my son I used and infant until he was 6 months and then switched to the convertible. I will likely do the same this time.
