Do you ask your SO to help you clean often?

My SO and I both work full time jobs. We have two dogs and a decent sized two bedroom apartment. Neither one of us is really “messy” but ya know.. dogs, hair, clothes etc make our house gross in about a day. So anywho, he complains so hardcore when I ask him to help me clean. I was just wondering how everyone else went about this task in their homes

If u both work, its 50 f**in 50 mate! I made a list of the household chores and told my spouse to pick half. He was shocked. But if I work 40+ hours at work like he does I’m not doing 100% at home just because I have a vagina.

I'm a SAHM. My husband never questions when I ask him to help with something. He just does it. I don't ask for much. Usually it's "can you take out the trash, empty the dishwasher before bed, put the laundry in the bag for the laundromat, etc" Easy crap. I've asked him for more extensive help as well. Never once complained. Generally he'll just counter with "Yeah, can I do it before work/bed?" 9 times out if 10, that's totally fine. When it's not, and I need it done asap, he just does it.

I’m super lucky and never have to ask my husband to clean. He cleans on his own.

I ask for his help ahead of time like when we are at work so that there is less immediate pressure on him. He knows I like to clean on Saturdays so I sometimes ask mid Friday

We split chores. He usually does dishes daily and I usually sweep daily (we have 4 dogs).. the rest of the chores we pretty well take turns when we have the time. He has been picking up the slack because I’ve been working overtime and he is always just straight 40 hours.

I do not because I'm a housewife and have never worked. I believe if both partners work then both should help with house work.

My ex was loads cleaner than I’ll ever be. I never had to ask. He was useless at most other things but his cleaning I cannot complain about. 
All I suggest is that if after talking and explaining about wanting him to help you could either divide the cleaning into a chore rota or just start cleaning up after yourself, just clean the things you use til he realises.

I'm a SAHM, my husband works full time and long hours sometimes. I do all the house work. He works hard outside the home for us, so I take care of the inside of the house. He takes care of us and I take care of him.

I’m a sham.  My husband helps clean.  I don’t have to ask he just does.  Now if I ask him to do something he does it most of the time.  Sometimes he will forget or get busy with our lo.  But as he says he lives here too so he should be helping around the house.
