My hubby and I are expecting our first little bundle of joy this August. We live super close to his family, while my family is two and a half hours away. We see my family more than his family. It's not that we don't have a relationship with his family, but his mom always is at his sisters house because she has two kids. With her daughter she is the typical overbearing grandma. Contradicting her parenting in front of the kids, over there at ALL HOURS of the night even when her daughter and boyfriend dont want her there. Well I know she is excited for me and my husband, but I dont want our dynamic to change. We have a very loving and peaceful home. I dont want my MIL to think she has the same free-run with us that she does with her daughter. I dont want to keep her away from her grandkid, but I also don't want to see her every week. Honestly we see her once a month if that....
