What to pack in my hospital bag!

Question

Ladies,
I am a FTM and am wondering what should I pack in my hospital bag for myself and my baby. I have some basics but I know there are things I am forgetting and/or haven’t thought of. Any suggestions?
Also, when did you start packing your bags?

Honestly, I packed too much with my 1st pregnancy, & I didn't end up using most of it. I stayed in a Hospital Gown until I was being released from the Hospital. It was just easier for me, & I didn't end up with extra laundry once I headed home. I also stayed in the Hospital Underwear my whole stay at the Hospital, & even took some extras home with me. Lol. If they got blood on them, I just tossed them & got another pair. So much easier & less expensive than washing or throwing away your own underwear. They have pads, nipple cream, etc. at the Hospital for you, as well. So, there is really no need to pack those things. Plus, you can take a stash of these things home with you, as well. I also just used the Hospital Slippers for my whole stay. You basically only need at least one comfy outfit (to go home in), Nursing Bra (if you plan on nursing), Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Hair Ties, Brush or Comb, Body Wash, Shampoo & Conditioner, Deoderant, Snacks (for you & your SO), Gum, Vitamins, Nursing Pillow (sometimes your arm gets tired while nursing), Cell Phone & Charger, Wallet with some cash & Insurance Info., Birthing Plan. For Baby-At least one Preemie Outfit, one Newborn Outfit, one 0-3 Month Outfit (you don't know the exact size that your baby will fit in until they are born), a blanket (the Hospital Baby Blankets aren't really soft) or a Swaddle (if you plan on using one), Mittens (so they don't scratch themselves), Socks, a Burp Cloth or two & Baby Nail Clippers (just in case).

FTM too, probably wont be packing a bag till 38-39 weeks. Everything else such as phone chargers and clothes, wont be packed until I am in early labor. (When I get my first few real contractions)

I'm a C-Section, and I'm anemic this pregnancy. My dr already told to plan on staying 4-5 days, due to I've already been hospitalized 5 times. Soo it really varies, with my 1st I didn't plan on c section and ended up having one due to heart rates (mine and his) failing. So my mother had to bring my husband and myself more clothes etc. Pack the basics, for your self and for baby you'll get diaper and wet wipes and even receiving blankets you can use. I always bring my own, and I bring the going home outfit but also a sleeper or 2. My self though, I pack a weekend bag due to how long I stay but also for as baby well minus diapers and wipes.
