SO coming to first appointment?

Question

My first appointment is Monday. I will be 6 weeks + 4 days. They said I will be meeting with the nurse practitioner and will have blood work done. My husband wants to come as it will “officially” confirm if I’m pregnant or not. I don’t mind him coming but don’t know if it will be worth him coming? Anyone else’s SO want to come?

My husband came because he wanted the confirmation. He also likes to know the schedule of things. It’s our first so it was nice to have him there to be a second set of ears hearing everything they were telling us.

Mine can't come he has to work and since he just started this job this is  not a time he can ask for days off. How come wveryone gets to see thier docs so soon ?!?? I feel like I have the absolute worst luck with doctors and appointments being done in a timely manner my confirmation appt won't even be till I'm 9 weeks , my first OB won't be till 11/12 weeks and my first ultra sound won't be till after that !! It feels so unfair. Like I won't get to see and take part in as much of what's going on inside from an external point of view as you guys /:

Mines coming with because I want him to feel as much part of the pregnancy as I am. I’m basically forcing him to come to every appt whether he wants to or not. ( he’s happy to come along) I didn’t give him an option not to. I said we have an appointment this day and that’s that.  :)

My husband has come to every single pregnancy related appointment for both of my previous pregnancies (tho nether carried to term.) it was wonderful to have his support every step of the way. Also, I wouldn’t trade his excitement at seeing the heartbeat on the screen for anything in the world!

In South Africa you can go when ever but the appointments and scans are super expensive so me and hubby are going for our first scan on the 9th of July. It’s our first after 5years of trying so there is no way he wouldn’t be there.

I went solo to my confirmation appointment at 4w1. My SO is coming to my first “real” appointment at 8w. We can hardly wait!!!

First pregnancy my SO only came to 1st appointment, 16 week gender reveal, and 20 week anatomy scan.. this pregnancy it’ll probably be the same. He only comes when we’re seeing the baby on ultrasound, otherwise appointments last about 5 mins and there’s no point in him coming.

Had my first appointment today at 6+2, husband couldn’t come due to work (military isn’t the easiest to give days off). But my OB is seeing me in a month when I’ll be 11+2 so he might come to that one! We shall see :)

my husband goes to ultrasounds and the first appt. the first appt they ask a lot of family hx and do a lot of questions so my husband likes to be involved in that
