Myers-Briggs was so enlightening

Di

Hi!

I posted this elsewhere but, it wasn’t my focus so I deleted it LOL

So I have struggled a LOT with lifestyle habits and mentality issues

and honestly I had no idea why. Like I know I have been going to therapy for years for PTSD but, there were just so many quirks in my like, being as well as so much internal conflict. I have felt like I’ve been in this constant state of existential crisis my whole life. And it wasn’t even depression (this aspect I mean) because I had motivation and interest to do things, but I just couldn’t describe it.

For years I couldn’t figure it out cuz physically everything was fine. I just felt so, I don’t know reluctant? It wasn’t lazy either. It just felt like things didn’t correlate with my values

My sister convinced me to take the Myers Briggs test

And I was reluctant cuz I was like bleh bleh boxes and labels, but I did it. With her though cuz I do have the tendency to mark the way I WANT to be. So there were times where she was like, okay let’s be real Ditto you are not like that at all. And I was like grumble but agreed:

And I was so glad I took it because after reading it I felt so validated that I started crying. I also gained so much insight as to why I didn’t like doing things. And not because I didn’t know these things about myself,

But rather I have always struggled with putting things into words. I have these feelings that are so strong. Both physical and emotional sensations. So much to the point where I ONLY and ALWAYS trust my physical reactions, as in therapy we mapped out what each physical response as tied to.

And it is ALWAYS right.

Nevertheless, it really helped me grow as a person, as now my problems that I felt for so long had a tangible definition and from that I could establish my own boundaries. But it also helped with figuring lifestyle habits that I would feel good about doing such as eating, exercise to even cleaning methods!

I was wondering what your types are?:D

I am an INFP!

My sister is an INFJ so it’s really fun at home to think about the dynamic. We always have been so similar, but always slightly different. She has always been very morals driven, where I have been very people driven. And that’s like the ONLY thing that was different through out our childhood. And we knew that the whole time and often became frustrated with each other due to our only differentiating value.

So when the test showed that we laughed because it was so true.

I also wanna know if you guys have any song that is like, your anthem to your personality. Music has always helped me due to what I mentioned earlier about putting things into words.

I started a INFP anthem thingy on smule.

And personally, I think Follow Your Heart (yes from thumbelina) Why can’t we be friends?, and Creep,

Just like, are INFP in a nutshell!

Keep in mind, the Myers-Briggs is not a prediction based test.

It was a psychological study that resulted in organizing TRAITS into categories

And many people have overlapping traits and values, such as INFP vs INFJ

But unlike a lot of prediction based personality tests and beliefs,

It’s essentially this:

I am an INFP because I value everyone being happy, selfless and harmonious over EVERYTHING else

NOT the sentence that follows:

I value everyone being happy, selfless, and harmonious over everything else BECAUSE I am an INFP.

And as I said, other types have this value too. There are always several things people value. But people prioritize their own values differently!

My sister values making people happy, but she values just and a maintained sense of morality more.

I value that too, but visa versa

So yeah! I’ll leave the link here if you have never taken it before. Keep in mind it’s incredibly important to be 100% honest with your answers, as it will only generate accurate results if you are honest!

And don’t worry, no one will see your answers (unless you want them too!)

Every single type is so badass in their own way and is necessary in society.

There is the link!

Leave your answers as well as songs that really make you feel validated and/or motivated!

I have always loved to hear about people’s passions, and maybe your anthem will help someone else!
